Held back at intake: what Oopbuy stops, marks or destroys

Most items go from bench to shelf. Some do not. These are the outcomes, from a polite note to destruction without refund, in Oopbuy's own wording.

HoldCounterfeit goods: destroyed in the warehouse, no shipment, no refund

Oopbuy's Shopping Guidelines list counterfeit, shoddy and IP-infringing copycat goods under Prohibited for Shipment and add: "The Platform reserves the right to destroy such goods directly in-warehouse. Shipment and refunds will not be granted."

That is the hardest line in the whole intake. The money is gone, the item is gone, and the decision is made at the bench.

Shopping Guidelines: prohibited for shipment, including counterfeit goods destroyed in-warehouse
The destruction rule, in Oopbuy's Shopping Guidelines. read 10 October 2026.

A separate declaration page, About OOPBUY, frames it from the legal side: Oopbuy provides only agency services, is not a seller of any goods, and you undertake that what you buy does not infringe anyone's trademarks, patents, copyrights or trade secrets. Combine the two and the position is consistent. Buy goods that do not borrow someone else's brand, and this rule never touches you.

Things that will not be accepted for shipment

The same page lists tobacco, alcohol and contraband. The contraband list is longer and more domestic than people expect: Swiss Army knives, kitchen knife sets and cleavers, scissors, seam rippers, gas-filled lighters, wine, Western-style cheese, pure fruit and vegetable juice, magnetic components, seeds, bamboo and wooden swords, ice-skate blades.

Prohibited Product Description: narcotics, explosives and hazardous chemicals sections
The start of the statutory prohibited list. read 10 October 2026.

Behind that sits a full Prohibited Product Description compiled from Chinese export law, with narcotics, explosives and chemicals, firearms and accessories, protected medicinal materials and medical devices. The intake check is where any of it gets found, because every parcel is opened.

The everyday items are the ones that catch people out. A multi-tool keyring, a craft knife bundled with a model kit, a lighter sold as a gift-set extra, a magnet inside a phone stand. None of them look like contraband in a listing photo, and all of them can stop an otherwise ordinary order. Read the item description for accessories, not only the main product.

Restricted, not banned: ask before you buy

A middle category is restricted rather than prohibited. "Medicines, liquids, pastes, cosmetic powders are subject to China Customs export restrictions. Please consult Customer Service prior to placing orders."

Shopping Guidelines: purchase restrictions on medicines and liquids, and friendly reminders
Restricted goods and the product compliance reminder. read 10 October 2026.

Batteries belong near here too. They are not refused, but only some routes accept them and those routes tend to cost more. Oopbuy's Packaging page suggests shipping battery items with smaller, lighter goods so you are not paying premium rates on a heavy box.

The order to do things in: ask customer service, then buy, then expect the intake to flag the item for a suitable route.

Special markings: goods that cannot fly

Rule three of the receipt inspection rules covers a softer outcome: "If we find that your goods do not meet the requirements of transportation and air transportation, we will make special markings on the relevant orders to remind you to negotiate a return."

Marked does not mean destroyed. It means the item cannot travel on the routes it would need, and the realistic next step is a return to the seller, at the seller's discretion and usually at your shipping cost. This is one of the few moments in the intake where Oopbuy contacts you rather than waiting for you to notice.

Invalid orders and the shelf-life exception

Two last ways an item can stop short of the shelf. An order is marked invalid when the product name and price do not match what you submitted, or when it turns out to be a virtual or prohibited product. The payment for invalid or cancelled orders goes back to your Oopbuy balance.

Oopbuy Storage page related details: shelf life not covered, destroyed goods not notified
Shelf life is not covered, and destruction is not notified. Storage page, read 10 October 2026.

The Storage page adds an exception that catches food buyers: Oopbuy takes responsibility for goods during storage, "but the shelf life of the goods is not within the scope of storage", giving perishables with a one-month shelf life as the example. And goods destroyed after their storage period "will no longer be prompted or notified".
