The open-box check: what the Oopbuy bench compares, and what it does not

Every parcel that passes the dock is cut open. Here is what the inspector is looking for, in the order Oopbuy describes it.

BenchEvery parcel is opened, without exception

The sentence that gives this log its name is rule two of Oopbuy's receipt inspection rules: if your package meets the signing requirements, "the warehouse will open all packages for prohibited items inspection after receiving them, and then weigh and store them in the warehouse."

All packages. Not a sample, not the ones that look suspicious. The first purpose of opening is not quality: it is to find things that cannot legally or safely be shipped.

Rule two, the sentence this log is named after: all packages are opened. Oopbuy help centre, read 10 October 2026.

That has a consequence many first-time buyers miss. Your item will not reach you in the seller's untouched packaging. The courier carton is gone by the time it is stored, and anything the inspector needed to see has been unwrapped. If original packaging matters to you, say so in the order notes before purchase.

What the inspector compares against your order

After the prohibited-items check, the same page says: "We will verify and inspect the quantity, color, size and other specifications of the products." The scope page adds the detail: appearance, colour, large areas of damage, stains, size, model and version number.

Think of it as a list of matches. Did three items arrive when you ordered three. Is the colour the colour you chose, broadly. Does the size on the label match the size you ordered. Is the model or version number the one on the order. Is there a big tear or a stain.

For clothing the size check uses "the size on the product label or hang tag". It is a check that the label says what you ordered, which is useful against a seller who packed the wrong size, and useless against a size chart that runs small.

Intake bench simulator: what happens to your item

Different goods get different treatment at the bench, and the differences are written into Oopbuy's rules rather than left to the inspector's mood. The simulator below puts those rules in one place so you can check before you pay the first time.

It does not predict whether your particular item passes. It tells you which questions the bench will answer and which it will not, so you know where your own judgement has to cover the gap.

Anything else true of it

Repacking: the courier box goes, a self-sealing bag arrives

Once inspection is complete, Oopbuy says it will "remove the original express box and use OOPBUY self sealing bags to package the products and arrange for storage." That is the reason a stored item photographs smaller and weighs less than the parcel the seller sent.

Inspection and storage instructions: original express box removed, self-sealing bags used
After inspection the courier box is replaced by an Oopbuy self-sealing bag, with exceptions. read 10 October 2026.

There are exceptions written into the same sentence: fragile goods, easily damaged goods, items whose courier box is also their product box, and oversized items stay in their original boxes. It closes with "The specific situation is subject to actual operation", which means the inspector decides on the day.

Shoe boxes are the common edge case. They are product packaging, not courier packaging, so they normally stay. You choose whether to remove them later, when you submit the international parcel.

Silence counts as agreement

The scope page carries a short line that deserves more attention than it gets: "For unconfirmed information, such as products with no obvious damage, stains, or other significant issues, we will assume that you have communicated and reached an agreement with the merchant."

In plain terms, if the inspector sees nothing obviously wrong, nobody asks you anything, and the item is treated as accepted. The only defence is to look at your photos promptly and raise anything within the 120-hour return window. After that the conversation is about after-sales support rather than a straightforward return.
